After cataract surgery you should go home and rest for the rest of the day. The eye should be kept clean and you will be given an antibiotic to drop in the eye to promote healing and to prevent infection. You will be wearing a shield over the eye at night for the first week to protect it. You should avoid rubbing or touching the eye as well. However you can ressume most daily activities right away.
