Battle Those Calories Online

After fiddling with medical obesity standards, the government now says most of us are overweight -- and that often means fewer years remaining down the road. Fight back by using Calorie Control Council's calculators to monitor and speed your progress to a more healthy weight.
The site features two calorie calculators -- one totals up calories one food at a time and another tracks an entire day's intake. For example, when "pizza" is entered in the field, you learn one typical slice of pepperoni has 230 calories and 12 grams of fat.
The Council says diet isn't the complete answer to weight control and offers a number of exercise tips. The site provides a table showing a list of activities and the corresponding number of calories they consume.
Looking for inspiration? The site provides a copy of the Surgeon General's 1996 report, "Sedentary Lifestyle: Hazardous To Your Health." and features information on low-fat products, low-calorie sweeteners and fat replacers.
