Even though more than 800,000 American women are diagnosed with cervical, ovarian and other gynecological cancers each year, women often overlook their symptoms and neglect to tell their doctors about them. As we know, most cancers, when caught early and treated right away, can lead to a happier outcome. Here are the nine signs you must never ignore:
SWOLLEN LEG: If your swollen leg is also accompanied by pain or discharge, than don’t wait. A swollen leg can be nothing to worry about—or the sign of other serious problems.
WEIGHT LOSS: It’s tough to believe losing weight is a bad thing, but if you’re not dieting and there’s no other reason for you to be dropping pounds, see your doctor. A ten-pound unexplained weight loss is cause for concern.
VAGINAL BLEEDING: If you’re been through menopause you shouldn’t be bleeding, and that includes spotting. Also, if you’re bleeding between periods, there’s unusually heavy bleeding during menstruation or bleeding during sex, these are all possible symptoms of endometriosis or cancer.
THE URGE TO GO: If you’re always needing to urinate, or feel pressure on your bladder to do so, along with pain in your belly and bloating, tell your doctor.
