The world's first successful ovary graft has restored fertility to a woman who lost her ovaries -- and it's being touted as a way to reverse menopause.
Karin expresses her outrage. "You have got to be kidding! How irresponsible! And just who would take care of these children whose parents were not going to be around to subsidize and guide their development? -- all of society. I'd call it gross misconduct of the scientific community! And talk about encouraging population explosion! Unbelievable that anyone would even consider this!
Alphia adds: "This has got to be the stupidest thing I have heard come down the pike in a long time! It had to be a man or men that came up with it! What woman in her right mind would want to have a baby that late in life? It is absolutely ridiculous. ... Whoever came up with this idea just was not thinking logically."
And this from Dakoz: "I can see it now in the local news, papers, whatever ... 70-year-old woman has baby. ... well ... duhh ... stupid is as stupid does."
But a few ThirdAgers said it's OK with them. Joe's thoughts: "Any medical procedure is messing with (Mother Nature). Heart transplants, kidneys, lungs, any medical procedure is not natural ... so why bring out the soapbox now. Go for it girls."
